Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. Looking in the event viewer I see events that are consistent with this story: * Internet explorer says I have my search settings corrupted and every time I start IE I see this dialog box complaining about it. * Credential Manager from the Control Panel with error "You do not have permission to save files to this location". * Windows Live Mail (it would not remember passwords that I enter anymore, and given that I have many email accounts and a complex system for sending mail so this is a PITA) * Windows media player (it would crash when building the library) About a week ago my machine had some kind of disruption which broke the following apps
